Wednesday, March 24th -- No class Friday! :)

In class we did a group activity that helped us better understand the different "roles" in the collaboritive group projects for our lesson plans. We each had different roles in the group to look at the various websites to look at them from a different aspects. Such as checking for the content, time efficicency, and I was the person that looked that at it from a technological standpoint. I was looking at the websites to see if the layouts were attractive, if the activities seemed interesting, and if the person who created the websites made sure to integrate alot of technology. We have no class on Friday and are supposed to continue working on our Webquests and be thinking about answering the questions we want to ask in our lessons.

March 22, 2010 - Overview of class

In class we started to dicuss Webquest, and how we will use this website. We are going to turn our lesson plans and turn them into project based learning activities that have an emphasis on action orientated activities. Also, these groups have a focus on collaborative groups projects where everyone in the group will have a "role" to do something within the lesson. Everyones webquest will have: Intro, Task, Process, Resources, Conclusion, and Evaluation. We are supposed to create the questions, topics and goals defined for our lesson plan.

Citizenship Powerpoint Presentation

Today in class I presented my Citizenship Unit Powerpoint presentation. I think I may have went through it a little fast since I was just a bit nervous, BUT overall I think it went well. Also, we were supposed to upload our projects into Google documents, and embed them into a blog post. No class for me on Friday since I will be out of town. California here I come! :o)

In class we continued to work on our lesson plans moving into Module 3, and talked about our framing questions essential, unit, and content. Next class we are going to begin to develop a powerpoint presentation about our lesson plan that is going to be 5 minutes long and 20 slides. The purpose of this presentation is to get people interested in our topic with the use of appealing looking pictures and minimal text on each slide. (Not a basic powerpoint bullet point presentation)
